One question I hear often is, where did you get that from? Whether it’s my shoes, outfit, or accessory, that’s a constant question I get on a weekly basis. Growing up, my parents didn’t believe in spending a lot of money on clothes, they had 3 kids and my mom was a stay at home mom. My father worked his way up the totem pole to be able to retire at a decent age and gives all of us the necessities in life. My parents love yard sales. Both my parents grew up poor so they knew the value of a dollar. When we were young we always got toys but usually from yard sales, and we never knew the difference. My mom ,from time to time, would buy clothes and shoes (still does) and we would be happy with the new used items we got. I know many people find that unsanitary, but if you wash before you use, I really don’t see the problem. With that said, I have always been a bargain shopper when it comes to clothes. Thank God for H & M and Forever 21 these days. I had my splurging stage but mostly on handbags and shoes (my guilty pleasures). I have calmed down and now always look for the best bargain. Now that I love to travel, I always need a new wardrobe for the trip (or so I think). This year alone I have been on 4 vacations already! So you know the shopping was on a high level. Thankfully I got most of my outfits for dirt cheap! I even got a pair pants for $4 bucks! (Details on that shortly). With a little bit of patience and a good stylist (my best friend helps me style my clothes, she’s great) you can make a cheap outfit look very chic.
Below are some of my favorite outfits from my vacations so far, and where I got them from.
First trip was Cancun Mexico during the cold harsh winter this year. Needless to say, I was ready to live in a bikini and some crop tops.
Next up was Miami in March, a very spontaneous getaway so I really didn’t have time to shop, But I did order a new bathing suit in the nick of time!
Next stop Jamaica, a surprise birthday getaway for my hard working boyfriend who deserved it.
My last Destination- the “Dream” trip – Paris, France.
The online websites I love to shop from and seen in some of the pics, the links are below:
I am lucky enough to live in one of the fashion capitals, so all these boutiques are everywhere. If you don’t live in a big city, don’t be afraid to check out a local consignment shop or even salvation army, you will be surprised about the great finds that are there!
You don’t need to have a million bucks, to feel or look like a million bucks. Wear a smile, show confidence and rock your outfit, feel proud after all it’s your own creation!
